Charmingo Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

1.1 On-Device Processing

All AI-driven text generation and inference happens entirely on your device. We do not transmit keystrokes or the content you type through the cloud for processing.

1.2 Analytics & Diagnostics (Opt‑In)

With your explicit consent, we collect usage analytics (e.g., feature usage frequency, session durations), crash reports, and performance metrics to improve stability and user experience. All such data is anonymized before transmission.

1.3 Account Information (Optional)

If you opt into cloud‑sync or beta testing, we may collect your email address or Apple ID token to manage your test participation and sync settings. We do not store passwords.

1.4 Device & Network Information

We collect basic device metadata (device model, OS version, App version) and IP address (hashed) solely to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and prevent abuse.

1.5 Third‑Party Services

We may use third‑party SDKs or services (e.g., Crashlytics, Sentry, App Store analytics). Each provider’s privacy terms govern their data collection and use. We require partners to process data securely and only for the stated purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Improve the App. Aggregate analytics and crash data help us diagnose bugs, prioritize feature development, and enhance performance.
• Beta Program & Sync Services. Manage access to beta features and sync settings across devices if you opt in.
• Security & Abuse Prevention. Detect and mitigate fraudulent activity or unauthorized access.
• User Support. Provide troubleshooting assistance and respond to inquiries when you contact us.

3. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share or disclose information only as follows:

• Service Providers. We engage vendors (e.g., analytics, crash-reporting services) to process data on our behalf under NDA and data‑protection agreements.
• Legal Requirements. We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you and subject to confidentiality obligations.

4. Data Retention

• On-Device Data. All AI models and personal dictionaries remain on your device until you uninstall the App.
• Analytics & Logs. Anonymized analytics and crash logs are retained up to 24 months, then purged.
• Beta & Sync Records. If you opt in, we retain your account identifier and preferences until you opt out or delete your account.

5. Your Rights & Choices

5.1 Access & Correction

You may review or delete any stored personalization data (e.g., custom slang, user dictionary) within the App settings.

5.2 Opting Out

You can disable analytics collection or beta participation at any time in Settings → Privacy.

5.3 Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of any server‑stored data (beta records), email privacy@charmingo.app. We will honor requests within 30 days.

5.4 Governing Privacy Laws

• GDPR (EU). EU users may exercise rights to access, rectify, erase, or port their personal data. Contact us at privacy@charmingo.app.
• CCPA (CA). California residents may request disclosure of categories of personal data collected, request deletion, and opt out of sales (we do not sell data).

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no security measure is perfect or impenetrable.

8. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the U.S., please note that data (e.g., analytics) may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions. We will safeguard data transfers consistent with applicable law, including using standard contractual clauses where required.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the App or email at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use constitutes acceptance.
